The 2018 International Photography Awards (IPA) were announced in the first week of October 2018, and I’m very pleased to announce that I have won the 2018 IPA Professional Winter Sports sub-category and placed 2nd in the 2018 IPA Professional Fine Art : Abstract sub-category behind the esteemed David Burdeny from Canada.
The 2018 IPA Professional Winter Sports sub-category was awarded for my series of images titled: Southern Wonderland: A Winter in New Zealand which features a series of five aerial images shot over the ski fields of the South Island. The series contains images that have received numerous professional awards at the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPAs), the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP) IRIS Awards and Western Australian Professional Photography Awards.
You can view the 2018 IPA Awards here and the Southern Wonderland Collection here.
Second place in the 2018 IPA Professional Fine Art : Abstract sub-category was awarded to ‘Stitching Fillets’, an image that was also recently selected for the 2018 AIPP Luminous Collection. You can view the image here and the 2018 IPA Awards results here.
I was also fortunate to receive two Honourable Mentions in addition to the above awards for ‘Board Games’ (artwork link) a.k.a. ‘Slopes & Ladders’ which received an Honourable Mention in the 2018 IPA Professional Fine Art : Abstract sub-category, and for ‘Sheet Music’ which received an Honourable Mention in the 2018 IPA Professional Nature : Aerial/Drone sub-category.
