Shooting unique compositions of iconic locations can be challenging. My photographic style has developed to focus on details and relationships between forms and the environment in which they inhabit. I visited Cottesloe early on a winter morning and was fortunate to time my visit while a large bank of clouds was forming over the Indian Ocean on its way over the Perth coastline. The thick, dark cloud became the perfect balance to counter the bold texture and architecture that is the iconic and historic Indiana Tea Rooms.
